There's something about stillness that moves me deeply—
Calling, the light.
Allowing silence to caress the folds.
Time is no concept,
Seen it all before.
Writhing, like dancers, yet unaware.
All available and inaccessible,
Freedom to choose.
This edition of photoetry is the first in a series I’m calling “Borrowed Lines.” One line from each of the first 8 single image poems was chosen by Martin to create a new poem. I then curated the images for each line, this time curating images based directly on what I sensed from each verse.
As I curated the images, I overwhelmingly gained a sense of being on a transcendental cognitive journey. It became such a strong sense that I plan to write further about the transcendental journey I was envisioning while curating the images.
I hope you thoroughly enjoyed going on this transcendental journey with Martin and me.
Fantastic choice of photos, Joe. Such expression and simplicity—I love it!
This first and last image speaks to me the most! I think it’s the colors! Great pairing of images and words.
